Real Kids Real Food 2021 Marketing Intern

I am passionate about urban health issues, including preventable chronic diseases like diabetes and obesity. I’ve always known the importance of nutritious eating and exercise. Since becoming a health science major, however, it has really been reinforced that healthy living can add years and quality to your life. I am immensely interested in this program because it helps children learn how to eat healthy from an early age and start these habits as soon as possible. I can’t wait to teach these tips and tricks to my family!

Testimonial:

It’s been an honor to work with Real Kids Real Food as well as Eat to Thrive since January 2021. During this internship, my primary objective on the fundraising team was to gather funds for delivering recipe ingredients for the food-insecure children in our 10-week virtual Real Kids Real Food club. To accomplish this goal, I worked with the rest of the team to create the crowdfunding campaign. I also designed donor presentations, produced advertising campaign newsletters using Constant Contact and helped maintain the RKRF’s social media accounts. In addition, I attended the Eat to Thrive nutrition class and learned about balanced diets, exercise and meditation to improve my own health. Throughout my time with Real Kids Real Food, I was also able to observe the fun-filled virtual sessions for the 3-6 and 7-12 age groups. It was so inspiring to see the literal fruits of our labor and hard work as we raised funds for these food-insecure kids to have nutritious meals.

Working with Real Kids Real Food and Eat to Thrive has been an unforgettable experience and I am so grateful that in some small way, I was able to have a real impact. I am extremely thankful to the program director Betsy Bragg and my fellow teammate Meredith Davis. Without their collaboration as well as the support of our donors, we would not have been able to raise the needed funds to make these last few weeks of Real Kids Real Food possible.
